I was walking to church January 9, 2011, then noticed extreme difficultly breathing and chest pressure. I blamed it on rushing in the weather, seeing it was so cold out, and I was trying to rush. As I got inside the church, it seems to subside some, but left me feeling rather lethargic and just real tired. I sat through the whole church service, while people around me are staring at me, asking if I was alright. After an hour had passed, I was taken to the hospital ER right away. My sats had dropped below 80%, and I was rushed back to trauma. Immediately I had all tests done; Labs, EKG, CT, and Chest X-Rays. Once the D-Dimer came back, I knew it was bad. Normal high was 200; Mine was 1964. My CT showed Bilateral Clots in in both lungs, and a massive PE in my chest, between my Heart and Pulmonary Arteries; A Saddle Clot. I had at least a dozen clots in my lungs and a large DVT in my left leg, which showed no symptoms prior to the PE I had,. The ER me, he could not believe I survived it. He went on to say that most would not have lived through such a bad PE. I was put on Lovanox Injections twice daily for 9 days, and then on Warfarin. I was in ICU for 1 night due to Pneumonia I developed, and then 9 days in IMC. They put me on strict Bed Rest and I was on O2, continuously. I know what they say about symptoms of DVT, but had none whatsoever. Mine was in my left leg for over a month and was very large. I had been walking a lot, going here and there, without any problems. The only thing I did notice, was the extreme tiredness, and found myself falling asleep very quickly as though I would pass out. This is serious and most people are lucky to survive such a trauma. If you notice anything different or out of the ordinarily. don’t hesitate going go the ER to be checked.. Now I have “Post Thrombotic Syndrome”, which is similar to Phlebitis, in my leg, along with multiple, small clots. It took over 3 yrs. for my Warfarin to regulate, and am having to check it every week at home. God bless those who have lost their life to this, I pray for all those who have also had this happen to them as well.

A new medical technology known as artificial disc replacement is another option for cervical spine surgery. Instead of fusing the spine together after surgery, a disc is replaced so the patient can retain normal neck movement.

Depending on the severity of the condition, a patient may qualify to undergo minimally invasive cervical spine surgery. In this surgery, a small incision is made with the help of an endoscope to disrupt the muscles minimally. Compared to normal cervical spine surgery, the pain and recovery time is less. This surgery relieves patients from scoliosis, herniated discs, and several other painful conditions.

Any type of surgery is performed while a patient is under general anesthesia.

Hello,
I just stumbled upon your articles and find them to be highly informative and backed by good science. I was sick for about 4 years, and before that I was in amazing shape. I gained a lot of weight and somehow I am still strong; 250lbs hand grippers, I am 220 and I can still do 10 pull ups and curl 100lbs twice with perfect form on all exercises executes.
I keeps develop extreme muscle tension, and fatigue – do you have any suggestions? Also, do you have any overall advice for me in my venture to get my body back? Thank you for your advice!

I used creatine 8 or so years ago, had great gains, ( it was the exact same product then & dont tell me its gotten better becasue its effervescent or some .) But I also had a frequent & uncomfortable need to urinate that was NOT just from consuming extra liquid, but from my kidneys being put on overload & doing damage to them with this stuff. I drank plenty of water, took a little less than the recommended dose & was having the urination problem for years after the use of creatine… I also was very short tempered with my family & young kids at the time I took it as it altered my mood.
I also have a friend who underwent a kidney transplant, that if he didnt get, he would have died . the reason for his kidney failure was creatine & he would tell you to stay far away from it as it almost costed him his life. This stuff is absolutely no good-

That math is far from right. To illustrate this, I will use an example.
Imagine you have two guys, guy A and guy B. Guy A has a bone breadth ratio of , resulting from 16″ shoulders and 10″ hips. A rather small-framed guy who, according to the formula, has elite musclebuilding potential. In comes guy B, with a ratio resulting from 22″ shoulders and 16″ hips; a rather brawny, blocky build. Guy B, according to the formula provided, has elite endurance potential.
From the examples I provided, I could picture guy A as a sprinter, or maybe a point guard, and guy B as a powerlifter or offensive lineman. Doesn’t make sense to calculate musclebuilding potential as shoulders/hips; the larger each measurement is, the larger the frame, and, consequently, the burlier the person. The formula is wrong. This formula is better suited to calculate the aesthetic potential of a bodybuilder, since the more tapered the body, the more aesthetic it is; the strongest and more muscular men, such as powerlifters, shotputters and offensive linemen, have rather large hips and shoulders, putting their ratio closer to 1 than, say, a hurdler or basketball point guard.

I get 2, 4 and 5 and I’m completely natural. I have had people accuse me of taking steroids many times and it pissed me off. It gets me to the point where I want to take steroids just so that I can say “Now this is me on steroids fckers!”. Lol. But nah I get a lot of acne outbreaks naturally and I have had many stretch marks as well as abnormally fast muscle gains. I’m a very lean person and when I stop working out I’m capable of drastically going from jacked to skinny as heck. When I start back up again I blow up quick. Another thing I’ve noticed is my pumps are naturally a lot more intense then the average lifter. Like my shoulders blow up like bowling balls and veins and shreds show up all over them along with my arm’s and chest. I’ve had a tone of people accuse me of taking steroids because of these factors. I also had a relative hug me once and say I was jacked and as solid as steal. He said only steroids do that. (He took steroids in the past) But it is to my understanding that muscle is solid… or at least a lot more solid than fat. At the time I was taking creatine and l-arginine with citrilline malate (which is a precursor to arginine) and a lot of BCAA’s.
